I received these images from the International Space Station last week on 2 meters FM using a Kenwood TS 2000 that was being controlled by Ham Radio Deluxe and the pictures were decoded with DM780
Born in the East End of London in 1940 my interest in radio communications was kindled by my science master at school, Jim Turner G3AYZ, and for many years I was a short wave listener and built a lot of my own equipment from war surplus parts.
My other lifetime interests have been, motorcycle and car racing, flying RC models and sailing with excursions into fly fishing and SCUBA diving
My wife and I travel fairly extensively having been around the world several times and we travel all over Europe in our motor home (RV)
First licensed in 1974 as G8IZB. Class"A" licence some 13 years later.
Main interests are 160/80/40M phone and digimodes on all bands. Faffer par excellence, Phd in doing the impossible. Like doing it because of the challenge. Once done I tend to lose interest.
Ex Medic and very interested in anything to do with Anatomy & Physiology/Diagnosis/The Human condition.
